For decades, Susan Booth Titus looked closely at the world around her and found something worth holding onto. Living and working in Ithaca, she drew on the character of the Finger Lakes: the play of light through tall windows, the stillness of a familiar room, the layered greens of hillsides and gorges, and the unhurried rhythm of life in a small city surrounded by water and woods.

Her etchings and prints are intimate and carefully made, with a warmth and delicacy that invite you to slow down. In them you can feel the same things that made her love Ithaca: a reverence for the everyday, an appreciation for natural beauty, and an artist’s patience in seeing it fully.

About the Artist
Susan Booth Titus (1940–2016) was an American artist based in the Ithaca, New York, area. She won numerous competitive exhibitions, and her artwork was represented in galleries in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Though her work traveled widely, its heart stayed rooted in the place she loved. 1
